Artifact

Today I will tell you about my artifact my artifact was all about the amazon rain forest animal the animal I was doing was a sloth it was an baby sloth. Before I made my artifact I learnt about the sloth. I found information in books and on our slips that the teacher gave us . I highlighted all of the key words and made a report with my own sentences . I wrote a report so other people can learn about the sloth to.Soon I will be showing you some photos of my artifact

Rain forest Sloth

Introduction
Have you ever wondered what a sloth is? Well I’ll fix that by describing the sloth in this report. A sloth is a native animal of the Amazon Rainforest. Read on to find out more information about the slow slow sloth. The animals in the rainforest are losing their homes.

Habitat
The Amazon sloth lives in the rainforest where it is nice and warm and dark. Sloths spend most of their time in the understory. The understory is the layer of the rainforest tree branters halfway up the tree trunk.

Sloth's diet
Sloths mainly eats leaves . Sometimes even buds, twigs and fruit. But they hardly eat because they have a slow heartbeat. They sleep most of the day. So that's why they don’t need much energy.

What do sloths look like
Sloths have different shades of brown or gray in their fluffy coats. They even grow elgey its green and it’s like slime. One thing that does include the sloth is that the sloth is adorable. They have long shaggy hair and their hair the rain come off easily that's good because that might keep the baby warm and not wet.

What does a sloth do when they have babies
The mum And dad snuggle up with the baby and they go to bed that makes the baby feel safe.If the mother sloth has more than one baby she will have to get more safe tree branches. She might even need to make some leaf nests.

A baby sloth hitches a ride on its mother's stomach until the baby is strong enough to hang from branches. How do sloths hang from trees? They slowly wrap their hands around the tree branch and they dig their claws into the wood. Sloths can hang like this for hours.

Conclusion
I hope you have learnt heaps about the amazon rain forest sloths. Sloths may be very adorable but they have algae in their fur. Would you ever hug a cute but mouldy sloth?

Matariki

In Totara we have been learning about Matariki and the seven stars or seven sisters. they are known as the seven sisters. we have been learning Maori hand games we have matariki workshops and all of Totara Whanau got to chose what workshop we wonted. my work shop was sewing. In sewing we made a marae out of fabbreck. Something that challenged me was tracing all the out lines, cutting the shapes and sorting them in the rite order. I really enjoyed doing all the stitching. I did a good job on the stitching.
I'm trying to sort all the peases  .

I'm placing all the stars on the peas of fabbreck .

Elephant art

In Totara Whanau we have been learning some prospective art.  This is my art so I'm just going to describe my art you can see that it is a elephant and it has heaps of detail on its face because it is really close and there are 2 little elephants because they are far away in the distance. The thing that challenged me was doing all the reconciles(wrinkles) and blending the water color pants. The elephant was made with acrylic pants to make grey you need white paint and a drip of black. If you put more than a drip of black it will turn darker than you will expect. I am proud of my art because the background stands out and the elephant has heaps of detail that make me love my art so much I love it.

Art

My post is about my art is the real live(life) river art.
I am proud of my art of all the blending and the sky. The thing that challenged me was making it a far distance and making the river get smaller and smaller. The thinning that disappointing me was the start of the river because it needed to be more skinny.

My writing blog post

I'm proud of my writing because I had heaps of amazing vocabulary as well as amazing detail like 'bloodbath' and 'mysterious' gulping. I used amazing vocabulary to make a picture in the readers head. Something that challenged me was writing all the vocabulary.

So it was a normal day at first. but then I heard a howl. Not just any howl a mistress (mysterious) howl. I  went outside. I sore a wolf it had killed a cow. The poor cow is on the ground. The blood is gulping down the side of its body. It made a bloodbath all over the grass. I felt so upset that the cow was on the ground. out of the corner of my eye I sore (saw) a calf mooing for milk. That was such a good thing to bring a rope because we had to tack (take) the calf to the paddock at home. We gave the calf a blanket, a humanges(humongous) bottle of milk. The calf was a charcoal calf with a crayon white milky spots then I wanted to go and check on the calf and but I was not allowed to go and check on the calf. A few hours later I went to go and feed it but when I got there to feed it, it was gone. My heart stopped beating I tryed(tried) to hold my tears in but down came a dribble of a tear on my cheek. I started to burst to tears because the calf had past away.

Have you ever had a animal pass away?
